Wenatchee office closes July 17 to help with "Stuff the Bus" clothing drive
LeMaster Daniels’ Wenatchee office didn't just sponsor Serve Wenatchee Valley’s “Stuff the Bus” clothes drive for needy school children, it’s also closed up shop for an entire day and pitched in.
On Thursday, July 17, the Wenatchee office locked its doors and sent employees to the parking lot of Big R Clothing, where a school bus was parked from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. LeMaster Daniels employees helped take donations of new and gently-used clothes and shoes for local children in need. The office also contributed $1000 to the cause.
All told, one-and-a-half busloads of clothing, 1000 pounds of food, and $4100 in cash were collected. "Serve Wenatchee Valley took the money and basically bought out the entire boys and girls clearance section at WalMart," said Angela Spies, office manager. "They came back with two pickup loads of clothes, socks, and underwear. It was amazing!"
“This is our community, and we always want to help however we can,” said Nathan Bishop, senior manager. “Certainly the cash donation is important, but our time is needed too, and we’re ready to give it.”
