LeMaster Daniels is committed to community

Service projects in Walla Walla and Bellevue

LeMaster Daniels is keeping busy. And we’re not just talking about tax season. Our commitment to our communities is something we take seriously year round, and that includes February 1 through April 15.

The Walla Walla office strengthens its support of local area youth by attending the Children’s Home Society Sweetheart Luncheon and Auction in February, as well as volunteering for the YMCA. Dave Elmenhurst , Member in Walla Walla office and a board member of the YMCA, and Office Manager Lisa Lucas are busy with preparations for the YMCA Youth Sustainability Campaign.

The Bellevue office continues to grow agricultural connections through participating in the Mercer Island Rotary. Dave Thompson, Member, along with his wife, Diane, and stepson, Jonathan, spend one Saturday a month in a Rotary First Harvest activity which involves sorting, packaging, and distributing food to the various food banks in the Puget Sound area.

“Participating in this community service is very fulfilling for me,” said Thompson. “It’s a wonderful way to meet a lot of great people and strengthen our agriculture connections.”

For Bellevue Manager John Sarine, a bout with chemo therapy led to community giving and a new look: baseball caps for all the male cancer patients.

“I noticed the pink caps worn by the women,” said Sarine. “I thought the guys should have something too.”

With help from his graphic designer daughter, and the request for royal blue by his doctor, John is donating 72 baseball caps to the Swedish Medical Center.

“My wife and I feel we need to give back in some way for all Dr. Rivkin and his staff have done for us - and all patients,” said Sarine.
